as Lord, Saviour and Friend
Oboda Village Chief Accepts Christ
Chief Ademola’s House
Mr David Watkinson, Lekan, and
Andy experienced an outstanding
and frui琀昀ul 16-day mission in the
city of Ibadan, Nigeria, in November
2024. Andy Economides preached the
Gospel using the story of Bar琀椀maeus
in the old Anglican church building in
Oboda village. Many publicly accepted
Christ as Lord and Saviour and came
forward to do so. Immediately a昀琀er the
service, the Soteria team visited the
village chief, Ademola. In the chief’s
lounge Andy Economides boldly shared
the Gospel and asked him, ‘would
you like to accept Christ and know
Him?’ The chief replied, ‘I wouldn’t
mind.’ Ademola was led to Christ.
The Anglican Pastor who was present
a昀케rmed he would follow-up the chief
the next day.
Andy Economides writes:
‘One highlight for me was the morning
we spent with all the 100 children
Soteria Trust sponsors at Prospect
School. The 23 Oboda ‘River Children’
were present. They board at Prospect.
They love school. I proclaimed Jesus to
the children and invited all to know and
follow Jesus. I saw in their faces the
glory of the Lord and the sincerity of
wan琀椀ng to know Jesus as they accepted
and prayed to Jesus in child-like faith.’

David vastly improved a sec琀椀on of the
canteen kitchen at the Soteria School.
The kitchen now has an excellent
large stainless steel commercial sink
and wall 琀椀les in two areas. David
also repaired classroom 昀氀oors. David
trained Solomon at the Soteria school
in various prac琀椀cal tasks. Solomon has
now been upgraded in his new role in
