Two destinations: eternal life or perish
Frankly, the truth and reality of heaven and perishing of souls does
not grip us as it ought, if at all. Heaven, here I come. Hallelujah!
We do not act with compassion when we do not really care that
souls are without Christ in this life and the next. Let us reach out
to a lost world.
We lack confidence because we are not trained. Probably no one
trained you. Disciples can learn a gospel presentation that gives
the ability to help people find Jesus, the Way, the Truth and the
Life. Often it helps me (and others) to present the three Ts: Turn
(repent) and follow Christ; Take his gift of the Holy Spirit; Trust in
his sacrifice on the cross for sin. Simply turn, take and trust.
Transformation story
I had just finished preaching one Sunday morning at our church
service. Jenny asked me to sit with her and Jeanette. I spoke to
Jeanette and answered her question using the three Ts. In her own
words Jeanette writes:
‘I believe but still didn’t get it. Andy offered to pray for
me. With my dear friend Jenny the other side, I said
“yes”. The biggest “YES” of my life as he asked me to
repeat, “I turn to Christ. I take his gift. I trust in him.” No
bolt of lightning but I stopped fighting, stopped being
frightened, and accepted his presence always in my life.
My life transformed, I let go, thanks to Andy’s ministry.’
Jeanette follows and loves Jesus today. It is necessary often
to gently take people by the hand and lead them to Christ. A
leader, Tony Bennett, at a youth camp when I was seventeen
years old, took me by the hand and helped me come to Christ.
The next day Tony gave me a New Testament, praying with
me and reading a passage together. He introduced me to quiet
